Acupressure is a needle-free therapy rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Instead of needles, a trained therapist uses fingers, thumbs and palms to apply precise pressure to specific points on your body. This helps release muscle tension, improve circulation, and ease pain and stress — naturally, and while you stay fully clothed.

Does acupressure hurt?
No. You feel a deep, localised pressure at each point — most people describe it as a satisfying, "productive" ache that releases tension. Your comfort is checked throughout, and the pressure is adjusted to suit you.
How is acupressure different from acupuncture?
Both work on the same points on the body. Acupuncture uses thin needles; acupressure uses only hands — fingers, thumbs and palms. Acupressure is completely needle-free, so there's no needle anxiety and no broken skin.
Is acupressure safe? Are there side effects?
Acupressure is gentle and non-invasive, and most people have no side effects. Occasionally there may be mild tenderness or brief light-headedness that passes quickly. Tell your therapist about any medical conditions, and check with your doctor first if you're pregnant or have a serious condition.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on the condition. Recent or mild issues often ease in 1–3 sessions. Long-standing or chronic conditions usually need 5–8 weekly sessions, and full-body wellness plans run 10 or more. You'll get a clear estimate after your first assessment.
How long is a session?
A typical session lasts around 45–60 minutes, including a short check-in on how you're feeling and which points to focus on that day.
What should I wear?
Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Unlike oil massage, acupressure is done fully clothed — there's no need to undress.
What conditions can acupressure help with?
Commonly: migraines and tension headaches, neck and lower back pain, sciatica, arthritis pain, stress and anxiety, poor sleep, indigestion and bloating, and low energy or fatigue. It works well on its own or alongside medical treatment.
Is acupressure backed by research?
Acupressure is a traditional therapy, and studies suggest it can particularly help with lower back pain, sleep quality and menstrual pain. It's best seen as a complementary therapy that supports wellbeing — not a replacement for medical diagnosis or treatment.
